Members of Swim With a Mission presented a $25,000 check to representatives of Children of Fallen Patriots in downtown Manchester on December 10.

There are many ways to say “thank you” to our nation’s heroes not just on Veterans Day, but every day of the year. At Thanksgiving, I was reminded again how blessed we are because of our military families.

This holiday season, as individuals and organizations decide which nonprofit to donate to on Giving Tuesday, supporting Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) will help more military children who lost a parent in the line of duty achieve their dreams through a college education.

This #GivingTuesday, send your donations to veteran organizations — that have been verified as organizations that will put your money to good use. All of these non-profits have been vetted using Charity Navigator and Guidestar so your donation can benefit the veterans it’s meant for. 

Giving Tuesday is an initiative that began in 2012, with its purpose to encourage people to commit to acts of kindness and generosity, both globally and within giving back in their own communities and personal circles.
